Imitating Postumus ca. Late 3rd Century A.D. 'Antoninianus' Good VF -- #AC89395
Bi 'Antoninianus' 20mm. 2.40g. Imitating Lugdunum mint Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust, r. IMP C POSTVMVS P F AVG Providentia standing l., holding globe and transverse sceptre. PHOVIDE-NTIN AVG RIC V 80 (for prototype) Good VF. Medium toning with much lustrous silvering remaining. Nicely styled contemporary counterfeit. Weak obverse strike. Some coppery spots and slight roughness. While most likely a 'barbarous radiate' contemporary imitation, this example is of such good style that there could be a chance that it is an official issue, owing its crude manufacture and reverse spelling errors to declining mint conditions during Postumus' deteriorating reign. An interesting piece.

Tetricus I 270-273 A.D. Antoninianus VF -- #AC92264

SPES P[V]B[LICA] RIC V 136 VF. Brown patina. Hints of lustre on obverse. Nicely styled. Ragged flan. Worn reverse die. Light porosity on reverse. This unusual example is not broken nor underweight, but was simply improperly produced. The finely styled obverse die belies the otherwise poor manufacture. In conjuction with the worn reverse die and obverse die chipping (at the facing edge of the bust), the ragged flan is indicative of the declining standards at Gallic mints after the death of Postumus.
