CRI 378; Craw. 544/35 About Fine. Toned. Clear legion number. Banker's punches. Lightly wiped. Some scattered faint marks. Legio XIX (19th Legion) was founded by Octavian (Augustus) circa 40 B.C. It was later destroyed at the Battle of Teutoberg Forest in 9 A.D. Its eagle standard (aquila) was taken by the Bructeri as a result.
