Scarce ancient counterfeit tetradrachm with good style. Some light roughness. Copper core exposed through silver plating in several small spots. A generally convincing and well-styled fourrée; the monograms on the reverse are clumsy but correct for the type. An interesting piece for a specialist in Seleukid or ancient counterfeits.

SC 708b VF. Scarce with the ‘EU’ monogram. Dark green patina with some tan fill. Very light roughness. This mint, identified by its distinct DEL control mark, is closely associated with Antioch’s primary mint. It may have been opened nearby in response to Ptolemy III’s invasion in 246 B.C., and remained in operation through Seleucus II’s reign.
