EF. Extremely rare. Glossy black patina. Some small patches of porosity/adhesions, otherwise choice. From the Southwood Collection.

We could find only three similar examples sold (differing monograms); this portrait is superior to those examples. Listed as rarity 'R2' in HGC; estimated to be fewer than 10 extant examples. This coin is absent from SNG Black Sea, and even Hoover had to re-use Waddington's photo from 1908 when writing HGC 7.
