Victory advancing l., holding shield inscribed S P Q R; S C to either side.
RIC I 543
VF. Nice green patina. Excellent detail. A few hard green adhesions and scattered marks. Approximately 1/4 of a scarce rectangular 'SPQR' countermark can be seen on Nero's neck. This countermark is often found on Nero's Lugdunum issues, thought to have been applied by Julius Vindex, during his revolt and civil war, or by Galba. It is unusual that it was so unevenly applied to this example. Ex Vauctions (Triskeles) 313; 251. Includes ticket.
